Big swing to the Liberal Democrats

The result of the Plaistow ward by-election was as follows:-

Conservative 455 votes (57% - down 21%)

Ray Cooper 343 (43% - up 21%)

Turnout 21.3%

Despite this ward always being a strong Conservative area the electors were clearly not happy with their local Tories.
